For both the paper-based and computer-based SSAT, students can change their answer selection while in the same section. Once the student's time runs out in a given section or they end a section, they cannot go back and make any changes in that section.

For paper-based tests, students can flip within the current section in the test book. To change an answer, students should find their existing answer selection on the answer sheet, erase it completely, and then fill in a new answer choice.

For computer-based tests, students should simply click on the question number in the navigation menu and select a new answer choice. Students can also use the button to remove their answer if they select an answer and instead of chaning it would rather leave the answer blank.

If unsure of an answer, students can also decide to remove their answer and leave the question omitted.
